Diversity and Innovation on two stands

Already renowned for its innovation in marketing, services and product development, the Austrian family-owned company FN Neuhofer Holz also shone at this year's edition of Domotex in Hanover. The numerous visitors were able to admire exciting new products and get professional advice from the FN team at two stands with a total presentation area of 380 m².

FN Domotex 2018The two-level, 345 m² main stand featured an array of innovations as well as the established product range. The product highlights and latest innovations were impressively showcased in the innovation centre, which formed the centrepiece of the construction. Upon entry, the visitors immediately found themselves in a space fully equipped with FN products. These products were exceptionally effectively highlighted by means of a special black light. The second trade fair stand, immediately opposite the main stand, presented a new FN Neuhofer product area over 35 m², namely the company's new digitally printed boards.

FN digiprint 4.0

FN digiprint 4.0FN Neuhofer Holz recently invested in a state-of-the-art digital printing machine at its Zell am Moos site which boasts an array of innovative functions (including a print width extended to 330 mm, excellent print resolution up to 1260 dpi, a variety of options for final coat: matt or high-gloss etc.). The results are flawless. With the same print and via different surface coatings, decor paper for a wide range of applications can be produced including skirtings, floor profiles, corner sticks and door frame profiles. And all matching the decor of the floor to perfection!

On top of the investment in the new facility, the company also invested in a new patterning room, the "FN Digiprint Competence Center", and upgraded the digital printing machine established in 2010 to the latest state of technology. As a result, overall capacity has increased fourfold!

NEW PRODUCTS FOR 2018

FN digi-pan: digitally printed boards

FN digi-panA new addition to the FN portfolio are digitally-printed three-layer boards in spruce or MDF boards with different dimensions and surface treatments, e.g. brushed, chopped, or plainly sanded. It is possible to print directly onto the natural surface of the board, thereby showcasing the character of the board surface. Alternatively, it is also possible to print on a white-primed surface, which achieves an especially impressive colour intensity in the end product. In this way these boards acquire the impression of, for example, matured timber for interior design or furniture. The inimitable look is achieved by scanning original matured timber. This means there are no limits placed on customers' creativity. Any image can be achieved on board. From an image of a beach to a self-painted artwork. Matching digitally printed veneer edges, which are ironed on, are the finishing touch to the boards, ensuring a perfect overall look. All three-layer boards are also available in the "flame resistant" fire protection classification. (DIN EN 13 501-1, B-s2, d0)

FN skirting connector

FN LeistenverbinderTransporting profiles is often difficult due to their length. This has prompted the family-owned company to develop the FN skirting connector, which makes it possible to transport shorter skirtings from location to location more easily. This is an important development as online sales continue to grow and lengths optimised for dispatch are increasingly required. For efficient transport a length of approx. 2.4 m is ideal. However, as most rooms are longer or wider than 2.4 m, skirtings must be mounted in pieces. The skirting connector ensures that this joint between skirtings, the so-called splice, is as attractive and stable as possible. During mounting of the skirtings the connector is simply inserted in the existing clip groove. In this way a virtually seamless profile is achieved.

  • A simple skirting connection to prevent misalignment of the skirting ends at the skirting splice.
  • Use of the clip groove found in every FN skirting as a housing for the connector.
  • Can be dismantled at any time.

Expansion of the product range and further investments

The FN range has been expanded to include additional aluminium profiles and white skirtings. Further significant investment is also planned in 2018 including in machinery and a further production hall. Prepare to be surprised! – because there's always something going on at FN Neuhofer Holz in Zell am Moos.
